webOS 2.0 and Palm Pre 2 are official

  its operating system HP webOS 2.0 and the first smartphone based on it – Palm Pre 2, which will be released in Europe in a few days.
The new webOS 2.0 comes with a “real” multitasking, which allows you to open multiple applications and switch between them.
Another new feature – support for Just Type, which allows to compose a text message, email, statuses for social networks and so on without opening the relevant application.
HP Synergy will allow to integrate various means of communication, particularly, Facebook, Google, Microsoft Exchange, LinkedIn and Yahoo!.
In addition, when connected to the charging station Touchstone, the device automatically turns on an app called Exhibition, which displays the to-do list or, for example, photo-slideshow (depending on the settings). Also webOS 2.0 supports the beta versions of Adobe Flash Player 10.1.
As for the Palm Pre 2, it’s a slider with a touchscreen and a QWERTY-keyboard. It will be released in France via the operator SFR on October 22. A few months later it will appear in the U.S. via Verizon Wireless and in Canada.
The cost of the smartphone has not been announced yet.
